2008 CN CANADIAN WOMEN’S OPEN QUALIFIER

ELIGIBILITY:

The CN Canadian Women’s Open qualifier is open to female (i) members in good standing with the CPGA, LPGA or PGA (ii) amateur golfers (current RCGA Handicap Factor / USGA Index not to exceed 2.0) who are members of clubs belonging to the Royal Canadian Golf Association or clubs in other countries which are in good standing with their respective associations, and (iii) other female golf professionals.

QUALIFYING FORMAT:

The LPGA will conduct an 18-hole stroke play competition to determine the four lowest qualifiers.  Each of these qualifiers will receive exemptions directly into the 2008 CN Canadian Women’s Open to be contested at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, August 11-17, 2008.

ENTRY FEE & APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

·          The entry fee of $250 CDN, is payable by credit card only.  Please be sure to complete the credit card payment section on the attached application form. 

Note: Those who participated in a 2008 CN Canadian Women’s Tour event prior to the qualifier will be reimbursed $75 CDN shortly after the qualifying round by the RCGA.  Information on the Tour can be found at www.cncanadianwomensopen.com.

·          The qualifier is open to the first sixty (60) eligible non-LPGA member entries received on or before 5:00 p.m. (EDT) July 23, 2008. Entries received after the first sixty (60) will be placed on an Alternates List in the order in which they are received.  Alternates will be notified via email or mail as to their position on the alternates list.

·          A list of confirmed competitors and important qualifier information can be found at www.cncanadianwomensopen.com.

·          Entry fees, less a $50 administrative fee, will be refunded if the RCGA (Alison Turcotte @ 1-800-263-0009 ext. 250) is notified of the player’s intention to withdraw prior to the application deadline.  Application fees will not be refunded after the application deadline without a medical certificate.

·          Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted and are not the responsibility of the RCGA.

·          All entries are subject to the approval of the RCGA and LPGA.

·          Reminder: LPGA members must notify Advance Official Jim Haley (386) 405-8383 by Sunday, August 10, 2008 by 5:00 p.m. (EDT) of their intentions to participate in the qualifier.   The $150 US LPGA member qualifier fee will be collected at registration.

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

·          A complimentary practice round for qualifiers only is provided.  Please contact the Camelot Golf and Country Club in advance at (613) 833-7402 or (613) 833-0799 to reserve your practice tee time. 

STARTING TIMES & REGISTRATION:

·          Starting times will be available Sunday, August 10, 2008 after 6:00 p.m. (EDT). Please contact Rich Kuypers at the RCGA Tournament Office at (416) 528-8817 for your time.  Players must register with officials prior to teeing off.

LPGA Rules and Regulations:

·          LPGA Standard Local Rules and Regulations will be available at the onsite registration.  Local Supplementary Rules will be provided at the starting areas prior to play.

·          Caddies are mandatory:  Players unable to provide their own caddies may request one on the application form and one will be provided.  The mandatory LPGA Caddie fee is $75 CDN.

Note: In the event that you reserve a caddie via the application and then later arrange for another caddie, you must notify the RCGA of this fact prior to Monday, August 11, 2008.  If you do not do so, you will be required to pay your reserve local caddie $75 CDN.
