| Detail: | August 10-14, 2008 TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION All competitors must register prior to the start of the Championship. Players that do not register may be disqualified. Official tournament registration will be held at the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort: Sunday, August 10 8:00am – 5:00pm (All participants must register by 5:00) OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND All qualified players are entitled to a practice round at the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort, Sunday, August 10, 2008. Please call the Golf Shop at (403)381-4653 or 1- 877- 707-4653 to book a time. WILLINGDON CUP TEAM MEMBERS PRACTICE ROUND Practice Round tee times for Provincial Team Members on Sunday, August 10 are as follows: *Non-playing team captains meeting at 10:00am in the RCGA tournament office WILLINGDON CUP TEAM PHOTOGRAPHS Official Provincial Team photos will be taken promptly at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10 prior to the Flag Raising Ceremony. PROVINCIAL TEAM MEMBERS ARE TO ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 5:00 FOR PICTURES AND TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CEREMONY. WILD WEST NIGHT The host committee of the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort would like to extend an invitation to all competitors to our Wild West Night, on Saturday, August 9, at OPENING CEREMONIES AND WELCOME RECEPTION The RCGA, host tournament committee, and the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort invite you to attend the Opening Flag Raising Ceremony, Sunday, August 10 at 5:30pm. All players and guests are welcome to attend. Dress is casual for all non-team participants. WILLINGDON CUP TEAM DINNER The Willingdon Cup Team Dinner will be held on Sunday, August 10, at the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort. The reception will begin immediately after the opening ceremonies, followed by dinner at approximately 7:00pm. Dress is formal. HOST HOTEL The Lethbridge Lodge (403) 328-1123 or 1-800-661-1232 is the official host hotel for the championship – please refer to the 2008 Canadian Amateur Championship when making your reservation. A shuttle service will be available between this hotel and the golf course. Additional rooms are available at the Holiday Inn Express (403) 394-9292 – please refer to the 2008 Canadian Amateur Championship when making your reservation. PLAYER HOUSING The host committee will be offering to house participants in the Canadian Amateur. Availability is limited, on a first come-first served basis. Startng times for the first and second rounds will be made available at registration, in the RCGA Tournament Office and in the Golf Shop on Sunday, August 10th, at 8:00 a.m. Second round Willingdon Cup, and individual third and final round starting times will be available in the evening preceding play at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the RCGA Tournament Office, the Golf Shop, and after 9:00 p.m. at the host hotel. WILLINGDON CUP RECEPTION – TUESDAY, AUGUST 12 Following the second round, the RCGA will host a reception to recognize the Willingdon Cup Team Champions. This is an informal gathering to be held at the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort. All players are invited to attend. The Willingdon Cup Reception will begin at 7:00pm. DRESS CODE The RCGA Dress Code is in effect during the entire Championship. If you have any questions, please consult with an RCGA Tournament Official. CADDIES Caddies will be available to all participants who have indicated they require a caddie on the official entry form. The cost of a caddie is $40.00/round. Additional caddies are available on a first come – first served basis. You may also reserve a caddie by calling the CLUBHOUSE FACILITIES The Paradise Canyon Golf Resort will be open daily at 6:00am. The clubhouse restaurant has a varied menu to serve the needs of players and guests throughout the week. Cash and Credit Cards will be accepted in both the Clubhouse and Golf Shop. PRACTICE FACILITIES Practice Facilities at the Paradise Canyon Golf Resort will be available to all tournament players for the duration of the Championship. Range will open each day at 6:00am - balls are complimentary, courtesy of the host club and organizing committee. LOCKERS & CLUB STORAGE The Paradise Canyon Golf Resort has a limited number of lockers available. If you wish to reserve a locker for the week, or want to have your club stored, please make arrangements through the Golf Shop at (403) 381-4653 no later than July 30, 2008. NO SHOW POLICY If you find you cannot compete in the championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting the RCGA’s amateur championships department at 800-263-0009. If you do not officially withdraw, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from future RCGA and provincial competitions. HOW TO RECEIVE RESULTS To view results, visit our website at: www.rcga.org.
