TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION AND MANDATORY PLAYERS MEETING All participants must register with the RCGA immediately following the Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, August 4th, in the Edmonton Petroleum clubhouse. Players that do not register may be disqualified. The mandatory Players Meeting will follow registration. All players are required to attend this meeting. OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND All competitors are entitled to one official practice round at Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club on Monday, August 4th. Please contact the Edmonton Petroleum Golf Shop at 780-470-0700. Please do not forward requests until after July 1st. Provincial Team members practice round Practice Round tee times for Provincial Teams Members on Monday, Aug. 4th, are as follows: * Non-playing team captains meeting at 9:30am (Monday) in the RCGA tournament office * PROVINCIAL TEAM PHOTOGRAPHS Official Provincial Team photos will be taken promptly at 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 4th prior to the Flag Raising Ceremony. PROVINCIAL TEAM MEMBERS ARE TO ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 5:00 FOR PICTURES AND TO RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CEREMONY. INTER-PROVINCIAL TEAM DINNER The Inter-Provincial Team Dinner will be held on Wednesday, August 6th, at the Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club. The reception will begin at 7:00, followed by dinner at 7:30. This will be a jacket and tie affair for all teams, captains, and invited guests. OPENING CEREMONIES AND WELCOME RECEPTION The RCGA, host tournament committee, and the Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club invite you to attend the Opening Flag Raising Ceremony, Monday, August 4th at 6:00pm. All players and guests are welcome to attend. Dress is casual for all non-team participants. The reception follows the completion of the Ceremony. Players are requested to go immediately to Registration. HOST HOTELS The Days Inn (starting at $119.00 per night) 780-444-4440 (toll free 1--866-441-1441), the Hampton Inn and Suites (starting at $149.00 per night) 780-484-7280 (toll free 1-800-HAMPTON) and the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites (starting at $199.99 per night) 780-444-3110 (toll free 1-877-444-3110) are the host hotels for this championship -- please refer to the 2008 Canadian Junior Boys Championship when making your reservation. Reservations must be made by July 15th. A shuttle service will be available between this hotel and the Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club trhoughout the tournament. PLAYER HOUSING Members of the Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club will be offering to house participants in the Canadian Junior Boys Championship. Availability is limited, on a first come-first served basis. Please contact the Player Services Chairperson, Gail Barros at gbarros@telusplanet.net or 780-486-1520 to obtain further details.
STARTING TIMES JUNIOR CODE OF CONDUCT AND DRESS CODE The RCGA Junior Code of Conduct is in effect during the entire championship. Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct. The RCGA Dress Code is in effect during the entire Championship. If you have any questions, please consult with an RCGA Tournament Official. CLUBHOUSE FACILITIES The Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club will be open daily at 6:00a.m. The clubhouse restaurant has a varied menu to serve the needs of players and guests throughout the week. Cash and Credit Cards will be accepted in both the Clubhouse and Golf Shop. The TBD Room will serve as the player’s lounge where scores and updates will be located. PRACTICE FACILITIES Practice Facilities at the Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club will be available to all tournament players for the duration of the Championship. The range will open each day at 6:00am - balls are complimentary, courtesy of the host club and organizing committee. LOCKERS & CLUB STORAGE Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club will not have lockers available during the week of the championship however there will be player’s only locker rooms. Also, there will be very limited club storage. If you wish to have your clubs stored, please make these arrangements through the pro shop office by July 18, 2008. NO SHOW POLICY If you find you cannot compete in the championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting Adam Helmer at 800-263-0009 ext. 244. This allows us to replace you with an alternate. If you cannot compete and do not withdraw and are therefore a “no show”, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from future RCGA and provincial competitions. The local rule permitting use of distance-measuring devices will NOT be implemented at RCGA competitions. Their use would be in breach of Rule 14-3, the penalty for breach of this rule is DISQUALIFICATION. HOW TO RECEIVE RESULTS To view results, visit our website at: www.rcga.org.
