RBC CANADIAN OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

QUALIFYING COMPETITION

ELIGIBILITY:

 

The RBC Canadian Open qualifying competition is open to:

1.       Members in good standing of the CPGA or other PGA affiliates  

2.       Amateur golfers (current Handicap Factor not to exceed 0) who are members of clubs belonging to the Royal Canadian Golf Association or clubs in other countries which are in good standing with their respective associations

3.       Other golf professionals

 

                                                                                                      

QUALIFYING FORMAT:

 

The RCGA will conduct an 18-hole stroke play competition, with a minimum of 4 qualifying spots directly into the 2008 RBC Canadian Open to be contested at Glen Abbey Golf Club, July 21-27, 2008.

 

The RCGA reserves the right to increase the size of the field and the number of qualifying spots available.

 

 

ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE PROCEDURE:

 

• Entry fee of $200 including GST (Canadian Funds) or $200 U.S. Funds is payable by credit card or money order made payable to the Royal Canadian Golf Association, and must accompany the official entry form. 
• The first 156 entries received on or before 5:00 p.m. on July 14, 2008 will be accepted.  The field will be posted on http://rcga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/rcga8/event/rcga810/index.htm, and players will be notified by email of their status. 
• Entry fees will not be refunded after entry closing date.  Late entries will not be accepted. 
• All entries are subject to the approval of the RCGA.  The RCGA will acknowledge each entry. 
• Starting times will be established by the RCGA and will be listed on the web site http://rcga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/rcga8/event/rcga810/index.htm.

 

PERFORMANCE IN QUALIFYING:

 

If a player fails to return a score within 10 strokes of the final qualifying score, an entry field by him for a future RBC Canadian Open Championship Qualifier(s) may be declined, unless the player can document that he is capable of competing at the national championship level.
