Fact Sheet

REGISTRATION

Le Portage Golf Club, Tuesday, July 24^th between 6:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m.  All competitors MUST register during this time.  Players who do not register during this time, without informing tournament officials prior to such time are subject to DISQUALIFICATION.

PLAYER MEETING & WELCOME LUNCHEON 

A welcome luncheon for all competitors and guests will be held on Tuesday, July 24^th, at Le Portage Golf Club at 1:00 p.m.  Participants will be guests of Future Links and Le Portage Golf Club. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend for a nominal fee. During lunch, RCGA staff and Tournament Officials will conduct the MANDATORY player meeting.  Important tournament information including local rules, pace of play policy, and code of conduct will be discussed.  This is also an opportunity for competitors and parents to ask questions regarding the championship.

PRACTICE ROUND-SHOTGUN

Le Portage Golf Club, Tuesday, July 24^th at 8:30 a.m.  Groups will be pre-arranged and assigned to specific holes. COMPETITORS ONLY!  You can find out who you’ll be playing with and which hole you will be starting on at registration.  Please note that a “one-ball” rule restricting the number of practice balls used on the course during the practice is in place.  Tournament Officials will be present on the course during the practice to encourage this policy.

During the practice round, one hole will be chosen as a qualifier for a long drive competition to be held following the practice round.  Great prizes to be won!

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for the first and second rounds will be made available at registration.  Tee times will also be available at the golf shop and RCGA Tournament Office after registration.  Final round starting times will be based on the competitor’s cumulative score from the first and second rounds and will be available Thursday evening, July 26^th, shortly after play in the golf shop and at the host hotel.

DRIVING RANGE & PRACTICE BALLS 

Practice balls are provided free of charge prior to the practice round and on each championship day (starting one hour before the first tee time). After play, additional range balls can be purchased through the golf shop.

BBQ

The RCGA would like to invite competitors and guests to the championship BBQ at Le Portage Golf Club between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26^th.  Participants, parents and friends will be guests of Future Links and Le Portage Golf Club. 

HOST HOTEL 

Laurie’s Motor Inn (room rates vary by stay length) is the host hotel for the CN Future Links Atlantic Championship.  Rooms have been reserved and are available for participants in need of accommodations.  The rooms are blocked under the RCGA Future Links Atlantic name until June 29th.  Make reservations early at 800.959.4253. 

CODE OF CONDUCT 

All CN Future Links participants are expected to abide by the RCGA Junior Code of Conduct.  Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.  The Code of Conduct is available on the RCGA Web site (www.rcga.org) and will be supplied to each participant at registration.

NO SHOW POLICY 

Because all CN Future Links Championships receive far more applications than spots available, it is important that accepted individuals participate.  If you find you cannot compete in the CN Future Links Atlantic Championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting Alison Turcotte at the RCGA at 1-800-263-0009 ext. 250.  This allows us to replace you with an alternate.  If you cannot compete and do not withdraw and are therefore a “no show”, you may be subject to disqualification from future RCGA and provincial competitions.
